A new walkway leads through Abse Bear now, though in 1927, Mackintosh would have passed this outcrop of shapely siltstone rocks regularly, without assistance, whilst en-route to Fort Mailly. Well documented in The Chronycle, Mackintosh’s The Rock has been simplified into a pattern of flat layered slabs of stone.
A south westerly view of Port Vendres is shown in the background, with a view of the rue du Soleil and to the right. We can see the boats on the beach of 12. The Little Bay.
